Cool

Beer!
Like it?
Love it?
Loath It?

Which kind is your "usual" and which kinds do you have for "special occasions"?

Low Carb? Yes or know?

Is beer a part of your everyday life?
When do you like a coldie the best?

Or do you prefer wine or mixed drinks and if so which ones are your faves?

Just wondering.

CHEERS!

Cool

Well I guess I'll start it off.
I usually drink Mich light or Bud Light, sometimes I'll do the low carb stuff. I really like the Goose Island Beers (especially the Honkers Ale).

Something very right about watching the game with a cold in hand!

I like wine too, but we'll save that.

I like beer even though I don't drink it very much. When I do I prefer the following:

Guinness
Caffery's
Amber Bock
Sam Smith Nut Brown Ale or Oatmeal Stout
I won't TOUCH **** water (read american) beer

Yes I'm a beer snob!

For wines, I'm just starting to get into them. My wife's Uncle is quite the wine expert and when we drink with him he picks great wines. There IS a difference between grocery store wine and very good wine.

Cool

You know Jumper, many of the wines that you would consider to be "god wines" are available in grocery stores and wine shoppes. Dont be afraid to hang around the #10-$20 bottles, you'll find some decent wines in that range. You have to remember that a bottle of wine you get at the store for $20 will most likely cost you between $35-$45 at a restaurant (especially fine dining). And, wines from different regions of the world are less expensive as well. I'm not an "expert" but I know what I like and am not afriad to try different wines. You don't need to spend over $100 for a wine to be good and if you are just getting into wines, sometimes it's better to wrok your way up the scale so you can taste and smell the differences.

I'm a red drinker for the most part, benn dabbling in blends lately. But I do like the whites as well.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Why would you do the low carb stuff? Light beer is low in carbs, so why pay more for a label that tells you its low carb?

Hey Sean PA, do you get any of our microbrews accross the pond?

When it comes to English beer, I generally go for a Newcastle.

As far as imports? Maybe an Amstel or Heiny here or there and a pint o' guinness every once in a while.

Small generally privately owned breweries. sometimes tied into brewpubs where they serve the beer they make. Probably much like some pubs in England.

Here's a site where you can find some of them
BEER 100

and a place where you can find books listing beers and pubs all around the world

PUB GUIDES
